SRH Exposed Again? Sarpanch Crushes SRH Hopes

SRH vs Punjab Kings IPL match

Punjab Kings continued their unbeaten run in IPL 2026 with a dominant 6 wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 17th match of the season.

In what turned out to be a worrying pattern, SRH looked completely clueless in defending even a huge total of 219.

With this win, Punjab registered their third victory and moved to second place in the points table with 7 points, while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their third defeat of the season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a powerful start with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head putting up a 120run opening stand. Abhishek smashed 74 off just 28 balls, while Head added 38 off 23.

Despite, once the openers fell, SRH lost momentum. Ishan Kishan scored 27, Heinrich Klaasen made 39, but the middle order failed to capitalize. Despite reaching 219/6, it never felt enough given their bowling struggles.

Punjab Kings made their intent clear from the first over. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh destroyed the SRH bowlers, adding 99 runs in just 6.2 overs.

Priyansh Arya scored 57 off 20 balls, while Prabhsimran Singh scored 51 off 25. The chase was practically done inside the powerplay.

After a brief setback with Cooper Connolly’s wicket, skipper Shreyas Iyer took control. He smashed a quick half century off 24 balls, while Nehal Wadhera supported him well to take Punjab home comfortably.

This match once again exposed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s biggest weakness.

After posting a huge total, SRH were completely clueless in defending it. Their bowlers failed to create pressure, lacked control, and allowed Punjab to dominate from start to finish.

If SRH don’t fix their bowling soon, more big totals could go in vain this season.
