Anaya Bangar is the daughter of famous Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar. She was formerly known as Aryan before undergoing gender transition.

Keeping up with her father’s hopes she started playing cricket early on in her life. But after she decided to transition in 2024 and come out publicly she had to face a lot of hurdles.
Talking in an interview with Lallantop she shared that she has got immense support but there has been some harassment too. She opened up that playing for various cricket clubs and domestic level cricket in India with the likes of Masheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal she kept her true identity a secret for the sake of her father’s public image.

Without naming names she revealed that she was sent nudes by fellow cricketers and a veteran cricketer even asked her to get in his car and sleep with him. She revealed that the cricketing world can be a space of toxic masculinity.
These revelations have started conversations online about inclusivity in sports. Anaya now lives in London and is barred from playing cricket in women’s category due to ICC’s rules against transgender cricketers.
