A group of the current crop of Indian players are having a horrid time in the international series after having excelled in the IPL. This includes the head coach of the side, Gautam Gambhir.
Gambhir remarkably led KKR to an unrivaled win in the IPL this year and his tactics were lauded by one and all. But after his appointment as team India’s head coach, things have been very wobbly.

In the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka, India couldn’t chase a target of 230 in the first match in what could be considered a horrid batting performance.
In the second ODI, the men in blue couldn’t chase a target of 240 after Rohit Sharma scored a quickfire 65. The horrendous show of the middle order has been a cause of concern.

The likes of Shubman Gill, Shivam Dube, and others who were brilliant in the IPL are turning out to be duds in the Indian national team. GIll, in particular, who is touted to be the future of Indian cricket is not even able to complement Rohit Sharma who is carrying the onus on himself.
Gambhir, who was tactically brilliant in the IPL is delivering weak results in the international arena. He is early in his career as India’s coach so there is scope for improvement though.

Shockingly, some of the names associated with the Indian cricket team currently had brilliant IPL season but failing miserably in the international arena. This needs to change rather quickly.
