Following the back to back terrible failures of Indian 2 and Thug Life, Kamal Haasan completely went off the radar and there is still no clarity regarding his upcoming projects as the lead.
Although Kamal Haasan is playing the antagonist role in the most anticipated sequel Kalki 2 and a few weeks ago announced his most anticipated reunion project with Rajinikanth, tentatively titled KH×RK, there have been no official updates on the timeline of when these projects will begin and hit the screens.
While Kamal Haasan himself in many public events has confirmed that he is going to act in an action thriller film directed by the action choreographer duo Anbariv, recent reports suggest that due to the delay in starting this project, Kamal Haasan is now planning to collaborate with a young director for his next.
According to reports, director SU Arun Kumar, who is known for his films such as Chithha and Veera Dheera Sooran, recently narrated a script to Kamal Haasan and after hearing the narration, the actor gave the green signal. Consequently, the official announcement of this project is expected soon and Kamal Haasan is planning to produce this film under his own banner, RKFI.
In response to the recent speculations, many people on social media are suggesting that SU Arun Kumar is a solid director and that if this collaboration materialises, it will be a sure-shot blockbuster film for Kamal Haasan.
They note that even though SU Arun Kumar’s last film Veera Dheera Sooran, was a commercial failure, it was a proper gripping commercial entertainer in Kollywood after a very long time that Kollywood audiences failed to celebrate. Therefore, they claim that SU Arun Kumar will put an end to Kamal Haasan’s failure streak and believe that the director will help the actor make a comeback.
However, there are still no official updates on this collaboration and it remains to be seen whether Kamal Haasan and SU Arun Kumar will collaborate and if they do, how the project will take shape in the future.
