Kanguva Release

The release of the much-anticipated Kanguva starring Suriya and Bobby Deol has hit serious legal trouble. Chennai High Court has ordered a stay on Kanguva’s theatrical release:

Originally set to release on November 14, the film’s release now looks uncertain due to a financial dispute involving its producer, KE Gnanavel Raja.

The trouble began when Reliance Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Raja in the Chennai High Court.

Reportedly, Raja had borrowed close to ₹100 crore from Reliance to fund projects like Teddy and Thangalaan.

While he has repaid 45 crore, Reliance is now demanding an additional 55 crore to settle the debt.

In response, they have asked the court to put a hold on Kanguva’s theatrical release and Thangalaan’s OTT release until the full amount is paid.

Justice Kumaresh Babu, handling the case, has taken statements from both parties and has scheduled the next hearing for November 7.
