Suriya’s anticipated Vishwanath and Sons directed by Venky Atluri is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th. With only a few days left, director Venky Atluri has started promoting the film through interviews.
In one of the interviews, he gave an exciting update about the film that is now going viral on social media. Venky Atluri confirmed that Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon is returning to the Kollywood industry with this film after 25 years.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he cannot reveal her character, but stated that she is playing a very crucial role. Additionally, he suggested that all the theories revolving around social media about the plot of Vishwanath and Sons are untrue and promised that it will be a very special film.
Raveena Tandon, in her 33-year acting career, has acted in only two Tamil films such as Arjun’s Saadhu released in 1994 and Aalavandhan released in 2001. Surprisingly, both of these Kollywood films were terrible failures.
Especially since Aalavandhan was made on a huge budget, it was a major loss for the production house. Following these two failures, Raveena Tandon did not act in a single Tamil film and completely stopped acting in Tamil cinema.
However, in response to this update, many Kollywood fans got excited, saying that if Vishwanath and Sons becomes a blockbuster success, many Tamil directors will approach her and she might become a prominent actor in the industry. They also feel that if Vishwanath and Sons succeeds, it will mark her first hit in the Kollywood industry and put an end to her failure streak in Tamil.
Meanwhile, since her previous Tamil films ended up as failures, Suriya’s fans are a little worried about whether Vishwanath and Sons will also end up as a failure because of her addition.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Vishwanath and Sons will emerge as a successful venture and lead Raveena Tandon to do more Tamil films upon its release on August 14th.
