With big success, Adipurush also brings bigger controversies. Even before the film was released, the film and its makers were dealing with multiple issues such as VFX and the quality of the film. Promises were made that they will delay the release and work on making the experience better for the viewers.
The first one was clearly followed but the masses are not sure about the second one. The visuals are simply abysmal in some places and it is nowhere near our expectations. But it didn’t limit itself to that.

There is a controversy that is rising from our fellow country Nepal about a certain dialogue. The Hindu influence in Nepal is uncountable as it exists as the primary religion of the whole nation, 80% of the subjects follow this. So unusually hype was there about this adaptation of Ramayana.
Seeta Mata is called ‘Bharat Ki Beti’ (India’s Daughter) in the film and this is the epicenter of all the controversies. Geographically, Seeta Maata was born in Janakpur, Mithila, and was the daughter of the king of Mithila.

Now this dialogue broke the hearts of the people of Nepal as they not only worship her but also think of her as their own. For them she isn’t the ‘Beti’ of India, she is their ‘Mata’, a mother goddess of all Hindus, it’s a sentiment beyond borders and geography.
Belen Shah, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan took a stance against this dialogue. He had taken a strong objection and gave the makers a notice of three days to remove this dialogue. If they don’t remove it, there will be a ban on Adipurush and all the upcoming Hindi films.

“Until and unless the slogan ‘Janki is a daughter of India’ contained in the South Indian film Adipurush is not true not only in Nepal but also in India, no Hindi film will be allowed to run in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Three days have been given to correct this. Hail to Mother Sita,” Mayor Balen wrote in a tweet.
One reporter Rahul Raut later tweeted that “The Nepal censor board has passed the film after the controversial dialogue which claimed Sita is India’s daughter was removed from the movie. The film, however, is still expected to face some backlash in Kathmandu tomorrow!”
As new reports are coming, the makers have agreed to remove this dialogue and it will be running in theaters in Nepal. These controversies aren’t massively affecting the number, that’s prominent, but as a filmmaker, it raises questions on the credibility.
