
A 28-year-old H-1B data scientist recently shared his horrific ordeal at a US company.
Taking to social media, the worker revealed how his company allegedly used him for five months to do all the heavy lifting, just to hand over the core modelling part to someone else. He was then given an exhausting job instead that no one wanted to do

Now, when it’s finally time to shine, his manager has swooped in to build the model himself. But it gets worse, when the same manager still expects him to continue supporting the project only with the technical aspect.
To make things worse, he’s also dealing with public shaming. From being mocked in meetings to being asked ridiculous questions about his Python script, being micromanaged and embarrassed for no real reason.

Amidst all the visa uncertainties in the country, the H-1B holder believes they’re trying to mentally exhaust him into quitting. Knowing that finding another employer who’ll sponsor isn’t easy, the companies exploit their international talent.
Many H-1B workers also stay silent even when mistreated because losing a job could mean leaving the country. That’s the harsh reality.
