Kunal Khemu In Brooklyn Nine-Nine Netflix Remake

Netflix is all set to bring a new Indian adaptation of the popular sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The show aired on Fox between 2013 and 2021, focusing on a group of officers working for the New York City Police Department.

Notably, the Indian adaptation of the series is going to feature Kunal Khemu in the lead role. He will be playing the character of Captain Raymond Holt, originally portrayed by Andy Samberg in the Fox series. The show is going on floors by October this year.

The upcoming series would be directed by Rishab Seth and Aarsh Vora. Netflix is collaborating with Banijay Asia for the new series, and the show is currently in the scripting stage. However, the remaining cast members are yet to be finalized.

Kunal has been a very underrated actor, and his casting in the Netflix show is slowly starting to make people excited. On the other hand, there is also a question of whether the adaptation will be perfect and flawless like the original show.

Adaptations and remakes are something that is not working nowadays. Audiences are always looking for something unique in theatres and OTT, and in such a situation, makers should avoid taking subjects that have already been seen by the audience.

The original series aired for eight seasons, and there is no chance that an Indian web series will run for so long. So the makers might make certain changes to end the show in 3-4 seasons. However, it remains to be seen if those changes will impact the overall progress of the main storyline.

Moreover, Kunal Khemu should now focus on big-screen projects instead of signing OTT shows. His directorial debut, Madgaon Express, was also a success last year.

While he has already signed Golmaal 5, audiences want to see him in similar projects in the future. Let’s wait for more updates on the same.
