“Dhadak 2” is now streaming on Netflix from 26th September. The film is a remake of the Tamil hit “Pariyerum Perumal”, where caste plays the villain in a young love story.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the movie struggles to connect with viewers. The attempt to balance the original with Dharma’s adaptation feels weak.
Viewers feel the film had potential but loses impact halfway. The love story set against caste differences seems less convincing in a big city setting compared to the raw power of the original Tamil village backdrop.
The film continues from where the first “Dhadak” ended. However, many audiences are so disappointed that they dismiss its existence altogether.
The cast features Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri, Saad Bilgrami, Vipin Sharma, Harish Khanna and Saurabh Sachdeva. While performances are noted, viewers find it suitable only for a one-time watch.
Finished #Dhadak2 on #Netflix. The film has some powerful moments, but I was left wanting more. So many unanswered questions, and the climax felt a little rushed. Still worth a watch for the performances! ✨ #Dhadak2Review #SiddhantChaturvedi #TriptiiDimri pic.twitter.com/dEjUkqdvAk

Yes, caste discrimination still exists in India. But not on this level & in this open. This is on a propaganda level
PARIYERUM PERUMAL may kinda make sense cuz it takes place in a small Tamil Village. #Dhadak2 set in a city like Bhopal doesn’t make sense… pic.twitter.com/YEksKwsDfg
