Netflix’s highly anticipated series, “Guns And Gulaabs,” just dropped its trailer today, and it looks like a Firestorm! Based on the 90s theme, the show seems to be filled with many callbacks and Easter eggs. As the title suggests, it deals with guns and gulaabs (roses), dwelling between violence and a crazy fun ride.
The series stars a powerhouse of talent, including Rajkumar Rao, Dulkar Salman, Gulshan Devaiya, and the talented Adarsh Gaurav. It packs a solid punch with hilarious dialogues and bizarre situations. The supporting cast includes actors like Shreya Dhanwantary, Pooja Gor, and Satish Kaushik.
“Guns And Gulaabs” is reminiscent of movies like “Gangs of Wasseypur” and has a font similar to “Sholay.” It is directed by Raj & DK, who have become one of the most successful director duos with series like “The Family Man” and “Farzi.” Taking inspiration from movies like “99” and “Shor In The City”, they have created a mashup of genres such as pulp fiction, crime, and dark comedies as the director duo said in an interview.
The series “Guns and Gulaabs” is set to premiere on August 18.
