YouTube generated around 40.4 billion dollars in advertising revenue in 2025. This figure exceeded the combined ad earnings of major media companies. The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal, Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery together earned about 37.8 billion dollars.

The numbers reflect a major shift in the global media industry. For decades, large studios and television networks dominated the advertising market. Their influence came from films, television channels and cable networks that attracted large audiences.

Today, viewing habits are changing rapidly. Audiences are spending more time on digital platforms. Short videos, creator led channels and live streams have become increasingly popular among online viewers.
