Saiyaara Huge Success: Lesson to Tollywood Heroes

Saiyaara’s Success

The unprecedented success of Saiyaara at the big screens has shocked all film trade analysts and movie-goers alike. It is selling a record 40k+ tickets every passing hour.

What was at best going to be a bland 5 crore debut for Ahaan Panday in this Mohit Suri directorial backed by YRF is now edging towards blockbuster success.

Fans, especially girls of the Gen-Z era, are crazy for Ahaan because of his rustic romantic-hero image. His pairing with Aneet Padda and the desperate musical-romance vibe reminds everyone of Aashiqui 2.

It has brought to newcomers and even well established actors’ notice that a romantic-hero can rule over the big screens if presented in the right way. Mohit Suri’s well wrought direction gave Ahaan the right push to realise his character.

Fans are demanding that their favourite stars take a hint from this and try to give an intense romantic performance for a change. The alpha hero image has bored the fans and they wish to see a soft and emotionally complex side of the hero.

In the past, young Tollywood stars have gone for relatable romantic films with good music. If action film is not fit for a star they should try different roles, not every star has to be the next Prabhas or Allu Arjun.

All you need is solid writing and a significantly lower budget compared to massy action films. Good performance is the core of such romantic films.

It is felt that on the pan-Indian scale there is a shortage of romantic heroes and fans are hoping that Saiyaara’s near blockbuster run and solid opening will teach them a lesson.
