According to reports, Ahaan is being counted as the new favorite leading man at Yash Raj Films (YRF), under the mentorship of Aditya Chopra.
An industry insider recently revealed that despite delays and setbacks in the making of Saiyaara, Ahaan remained loyal to YRF, even before the filming of his debut began.
While the project was on hold, Ahaan received a bunch of lucrative offers, but he turned them all down even when Aditya Chopra offered to let him go.
Aditya was reportedly impressed by Ahaan’s dedication and patience and is now planning a major action film as the actor’s next big project.
Within his close circle, Aditya has also referred to Ahaan as the “new Ranveer Singh,” and reportedly YRF also has a three-film contract with the actor.
For Ahaan, being in the good books of the industry’s top filmmakers only means one thing: stardom is just a few films away.
But despite the popularity of the action genre, not many are convinced with the decision of Ahaan taking on a high-octane action film this early on in his career.
Historically, YRF has launched its biggest discoveries, even Ranveer Singh, through a series of vibrant romantic comedies that help connect the actor with younger and family audiences.
According to research by the Journal of Cultural Economics, leads who appear in family-centric films enjoy longer-lasting popularity and stable careers.
With YRF already bringing Ahaan into the action genre, critics and fans alike are advising Ahaan through social media that he shouldn’t repeat the mistakes that Hrithik Roshan made after Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Salman Khan made during the 1992-93 phase, and Aamir Khan made after Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
Many are warning the actor to choose his scripts wisely, as Bollywood needs a young family hero, and he has the potential and fanbase to pull it off.
Fans are suggesting that a film like Hum Tum or a Rajshree Productions ’classic could secure Ahaan both critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase.
However, after the revelation of Ahaan’s loyalty to Aditya Chopra and YRF, it seems like for now, he won’t be the one pulling the strings.
