Ajay Devgn’s upcoming comedy sequel Dhamaal 4 is now officially scheduled for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026. The film has been advanced from its earlier announced March 19, 2026 Eid release, marking a notable shift in its release strategy.
The date change is seen as a calculated move after the massive success of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. To avoid a major box office clash with Dhurandhar 2 and Yash’s Toxic, Ajay Devgn and director Indra Kumar chose a safer June window.
A June 12 release is expected to offer Dhamaal 4 more room to perform commercially. Media reports suggest the summer slot provides breathing space, allowing the comedy franchise to attract audiences without direct competition from large scale action films.
Dhamaal 4 brings back familiar faces from the franchise, including Ajay, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, and Sanjay Mishra. The film also features Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, Vijay Patkar, and Ravi Kishan in key roles.
The Dhamaal franchise began in 2007 with the original Dhamaal, starring Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jaaferi, and Arshad Warsi. Despite mixed reviews, the film performed well at the box office and gained strong audience recall.
This success led to sequels Double Dhamaal in 2011 and Total Dhamaal in 2019. The latter, which featured Ajay Devgn, revived the franchise and delivered major box office numbers, strengthening its commercial appeal.
Known for frequent sequels, Ajay Devgn has earned the tag of the “king of sequels.” With Dhamaal 4, the actor appears to be banking once again on nostalgia, promising a familiar dose of slapstick humour and ensemble-driven entertainment.
However, audience reactions online remain divided. While excitement around the franchise is evident, some social media users feel another sequel may not be the strongest career move for Ajay at this stage.
Over the past year, Ajay Devgn has largely appeared in franchise films, resulting in an uneven run. In 2025, Raid 2, Son of Sardaar 2, and De De Pyaar De 2 failed to meet box office expectations.
With Dhamaal 4 and Drishyam 3 lined up for 2026, audience expectations are high. Many are keen to see whether Ajay Devgn can reclaim his winning streak or continue relying on nostalgia-driven releases.
