Actress Ananya Panday’s latest appearance has set social media abuzz. After returning from a Maldives vacation, the star attended the Mumbai screening of The Bads of Bollywood in a white embellished outfit. But it wasn’t her dress that caught the spotlight, it was her visibly sun-kissed tan.
Online chatter immediately took over. Some users called her look fake, while others openly criticised her complexion. Ananya, however, responded with humour. Sharing a clip from the event on Instagram Stories, she captioned it: “I’m a tan fan” with a laughing emoji.
Her fans quickly defended her, praising her confidence and calling out Bollywood’s obsession with fair skin. Many admired how she embraced the tan without trying to hide or justify it. Shanaya Kapoor also dropped heart emojis on her post.
The actress used the moment to plug her new Netflix project, The Bads of Bollywood, writing: “Why does it feel so good to be bad, shining away for the #TheBadsOfBollywood which is out now on Netflix.”
Before this, Ananya had shared several moments from her Maldives trip, including sunsets, sea turtles, dolphins, and morning Pilates sessions. While her tan may be trending now, she will soon shift attention back to her work. Her next release, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, opposite Kartik Aaryan, hits theatres on December 3.
