Dhurandhar 2: Why This Top Actor Rejected Exciting Role?

Anil Kapoor Dhurandhar cameo decision

Anil Kapoor recently revealed that he turned down a cameo appearance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film stars Ranveer Singh and is directed by Aditya Dhar.

The veteran actor shared that he was approached for a brief role in the film. However, he eventually declined the offer because of earlier professional commitments that he had already agreed to.

Anil Kapoor spoke about the decision during a session at the India Today Conclave Delhi 2026. During the conversation, he explained that honouring committed dates has always been a rule he follows in his career.

According to him, professionalism and discipline play a major role in building longevity in the film industry. He said these qualities sometimes matter even more than talent when it comes to sustaining a long career.

Kapoor revealed that when the offer for the cameo arrived, he had already promised those dates to another filmmaker. Instead of cancelling that commitment, he chose to step away from the project.

Although he admitted that being part of the film would have been exciting, Kapoor accepted the decision calmly. He even described missing the opportunity as “his loss,” while adding that the film appears promising.

The actor also highlighted the importance of maintaining professional integrity. In an industry where schedules frequently overlap, he believes respecting earlier commitments is essential.

Kapoor explained that cancelling confirmed dates for a new project could set the wrong example. He said such decisions can affect trust and working relationships in the film industry.

At the same time, Kapoor expressed hope that he and Aditya Dhar may collaborate in the future. He said a project together could happen when their schedules align better.

His comments show how scheduling conflicts and professional ethics often influence casting decisions. Even when actors are interested in a project, commitments and discipline can sometimes take priority.
