As per Variety, Manoj Bajpayee has been finalized for the cast of Bhagam Bhag 2. He is taking the place of Govinda as the third hero in the group. There were rumors that Akshaye Khanna would be in the film. Unfortunately, he is no longer doing it for reasons that are not known.
Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal are both returning to their roles. Raaj Shaandilyaa will be the director for this sequel. He is known for the Dream Girl movies. He is taking over for Priyadarshan. Priyadarshan is currently busy with other projects with Akshay Kumar like Bhoot Bangla and Hera Pheri 3.
Meenakshi Chaudhary has been cast as the leading lady. She is known for her work in films like Guntur Kaaram. The story will be a new adventure with mistaken identities and a comedy of errors.
The shooting for the movie starts next month in Mumbai. This casting choice is very surprising. Manoj Bajpayee is a serious actor who is known for very intense acting. Seeing him in a slapstick comedy will be a big change. He will be acting with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. They are both considered masters of comedy.
However, Manoj is not as good a comedian as Govinda. His timing with Akshay and Paresh will have to be even better than what Govinda did. Fans will definitely miss Govinda and his character in the sequel.
