Patriotism Takes Over Bollywood: Too Many WAR Films?

Bollywood patriotic war film lineup

Bollywood is gearing up for a wave of patriotic films in the coming months, with several war dramas and soldier-themed stories ready to hit theatres. Filmmakers are turning their focus to the nation’s pride and stories of courage on the battlefield.

Leading this wave is Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur, directed by Razneesh Ghai. Based on the 1962 Battle of Rezang La, it tells the story of 120 Indian soldiers who fought fearlessly against Chinese troops. The film releases on November 21, 2025, and its trailer has already won praise from audiences.

Next in line is Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Ekavali Khanna. This biopic celebrates Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who fought bravely in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Audiences can also look forward to Border 2, the sequel to the 1997 hit Border. Starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Sonam Bajwa, and Mona Singh, and directed by Anurag Singh, the film revisits the Battle of Longewala. It releases on January 23, 2026, bringing back patriotic emotions from the original classic.

Salman Khan returns with Battle of Galwan, co-starring Chitrangada Singh, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Ankur Bhatia. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, it portrays the 2020 India-China Galwan Valley clash and is set for an Eid 2026 release, marking a strong comeback for the superstar.

Lastly, Fauzi is expected to release in August 2026. While details about its cast and plot remain under wraps, industry sources hint at another intense story of patriotism and sacrifice.

With these releases, Bollywood is ready to honour India’s military heroes, celebrate national pride, and deliver action-packed stories of bravery on the big screen.
