Audiences of the show ‘Master Chef India’ were shocked to hear one of the comments made by Farah Khan. The ninth season of the show streams on SonyLIV and the filmmaker is a regular host.
Farah Khan called ‘Holi’ as the ‘festival of chhapris’ or cringey people. The exact words that she said were “Saare chhapri logon ka favourite festival Holi hota hai.”
Netizens have taken offence to that and quite naturally so. Holi is one of the biggest festivals of the country and even people from other nations come to India to have a taste of Holi.
And Farah’s comment has struck up a new controversy again. People have pointed out that the choreographer cum director has time and again made listless and sensitive comments about other people’s faith.
Farah Khan is a celebrity with a huge fan following and she is hosting a show like Master Chef India that is being watched by so many people today. She has to be more sensible and thoughtful about the words that she chooses to express herself.
There are already some posts demanding the ban of the show, which seems to be too far-fetched. But looks like the outrage on Farah will continue for some time now.
