“I Wasted My Time on Priyanka, Katrina, & Alia”

Farhan Akhtar talks about JLZ delay

Audiences have waited a long time for an update on Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. Farhan finally addressed the delay and explained what kept the project from moving ahead.

Farhan Akhtar said in a podcast that he first gave full attention to the film. He committed so deeply that he turned down several acting offers. Jee Le Zaraa was planned to start after Toofan released on Prime Video four years ago.

He shared that he kept replying to acting offers by saying he would soon begin directing. But the delay stretched on. Farhan called it a stressful phase because he felt he was wasting time. He even began doubting his ability to direct after such a long break.

Farhan feared that people would question his skills, yet he refused to step back. He still did not share any timeline for when the film will enter production. A poster arrived in 2021, and since then, the audience has waited for any confirmed update.

With Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt leading the cast, the film holds strong promise. Many online users say Farhan plans to begin JLZ later, once the industry settles down after its current struggle.

Producers now see even Rs 30–50 crore investments as heavy risks. Star prices remain high, and collections often fall short. Farhan’s own recent film also faced a difficult run at the box office.

With the industry stuck in a rough phase, the wait for Jee Le Zaraa is likely to continue.
