Gadar 3 and Coal King are the next big projects that might bring back the winning duo of Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma. Their last film, Gadar 2, turned into a blockbuster in 2023 and earned over 500 crore at the box office.
Film journalist Himesh Mankad has suggested that Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol are discussing Gadar 3. The film is expected to be a large-scale period action drama that takes the story forward with an epic setting.
Along with Gadar 3, the two are also exploring a larger-than-life action drama tentatively titled Coal King. The film is believed to be set against the backdrop of the Coal Mafia, with Sunny Deol playing a completely fresh and powerful character.
Reports suggest that while the script of Coal King is complete, the dialogue draft is still in progress. On the other hand, Gadar 3 is still being scripted but may turn out to be another engaging drama entertainer.
Sunny Deol is busy with multiple projects. He is working with Sidharth P Malhotra for a Netflix original and is also set to play Lord Hanuman in the magnum opus Ramayana, which resumes filming by the end of 2025.
In addition, Sunny Deol has two major releases lined up for next year, Border 2 and Lahore: 1947. Both films are high-profile projects, and his fans are eagerly waiting for his return to action on the big screen.
