Two very different films are coming up at the box office in the next two weeks — Housefull 5, a star-studded comedy and Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s emotional drama that carries a big legacy.
Both are important in their own way but early trends suggest they may start with very different numbers.

According to trade experts, Housefull 5 is expected to open big. The film is expected to collect around ₹27 crore on its first day in India.
That’s a big number and is among the biggest opener of the year so far. The franchise has always had good reach among families and mass audience and that trend looks to continue.

The film stars Akshay Kumar and has the classic Housefull style of slapstick comedy. Its release on June 6 also gives it a clean run at the box office with no major clash which should help its collections further.
On the other hand, Sitaare Zameen Par is looking at a modest opening. As per early trade predictions, the film may open in the range of ₹7–9 crore. Compared to Aamir Khan’s past openers like PK or Dangal, this is lower — but expectations are different this time.

This film is positioned as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par but also tries to mix in sports drama.
That shift in tone might be why the buzz hasn’t picked up yet especially among younger audience who might not connect instantly with the theme.
Trade analysts say the big opening for Housefull 5 comes down to two main factors — it’s a comedy that’s easy to sell and it’s part of a well known franchise.
These films may not always get great reviews but they bring in footfalls especially on weekends. If the humor works the film could go beyond ₹100 crore in the first weekend itself.
For Sitaare Zameen Par, the film depends more on content and word of mouth. Aamir Khan is known for films that pick up after release so even if the Day 1 isn’t massive it could grow steadily if audience connects with the message. But that’s a big if — and the trailer response so far has been mixed.
This is not really a box office clash because the films release on different dates and appeal to different audience.
Housefull 5 will get the comedy audience and Sitaare Zameen Par will get the families and those looking for emotion and storytelling.
But when it comes to numbers, Housefull 5 is ahead. The hype, the comedy and the mass appeal is working in its favour. Sitaare Zameen Par will need good word of mouth to stay in the race.
According to trade buzz, Housefull 5 is set to open big. Sitaare Zameen Par will start slow but if the story strikes the right chord, it can still find its audience over time.
As always, in Bollywood, it all comes down to content after the first show.
Let’s wait and watch which film wins hearts — and which one wins the box office.
