As tensions between India and Pakistan remain on the rise, actor Harshvardhan Rane has announced that he will be refraining from being a part of Sanam Teri Kasam Part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated.
This post appears in response to Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane’s recent remarks about India’s retaliatory strike against Pakistan through Operation Sindoor.

Mawra Hocane criticized this Indian strike, claiming it had resulted in the death of innocent civilians and that it was an act of cowardice.
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), following Operation Sindoor, announced that it continues the “strict and complete ban” on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers operating in India.

Similar demands for restrictions on Pakistani artists have been made by AICWA before, including in 2016 and 2019 in response to cross-border conflicts.
The original Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released a few months ago and brought in about Rs 45 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian cinema re-releases.

For the devoted viewers of the first movie, HR’s choice—albeit a personal one—has communicated a very different message.
Harshvardhan’s clear disdain to work with his previous co-star and Mawra’s comments causing a social media uproar mean there seems no chance of resolutions anytime soon.
Fans on social media are applauding HR’s decision while Mawra faces heavy criticism.
This ending to a love story will truly make an interesting sequel.
