Ira Khan, daughter of Aamir Khan, recently opened up about completing her therapy journey after eight years of psychoanalysis and organised treatment. In an emotional social media post, she revealed that she attended her final therapy session on October 13.
Sharing a set of candid photos on October 20, Ira appeared in a white T-shirt and black shorts and wrote, “After three sessions a week for eight years of psychoanalysis I’m no longer in therapy.” She added that the decision to stop therapy was taken together with her therapist, as both felt she was ready to manage her life independently and responsibly.
Ira Khan mentioned that she continues her medication and described herself as being in “remission from depression.” She signed off her post by proudly writing, “This is not a thing and not what it’s called, but I like saying it – I GRADUATED THERAPY! I PASSED!”
While many appreciated Ira’s courage and transparency, some social media users resorted to trolling, posting hurtful remarks about her appearance. However, her supporters and mental health advocates praised her for speaking openly about mental health and breaking the stigma surrounding depression.
