Fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which became a generation-defining film in 2013. However, Kalki Koechlin says that it would be hard to re-create the same magic that the original created.
There are high chances that there would be a sequel since Ranbir Kapoor is busy with major movies, including Dhoom 4, Animal, and Ramayana 1 and 2. Those roles indicate he will eventually take on roles where characters are more intense and gloomy.

Viewers might not accept Ranbir Kapoor, given that he has this drastic change in his job to now play the carefree bunny. The character of YJHD is in extreme contrast with Animal, so again, this identity is suspectible to return.
Another challenge is pressure to make a successful sequel. The appeal of YJHD might be difficult to recreate with Kapoor, whose image is changing now, and many sequels fail to deliver.

Given the schedule of Ranbir Kapoor, change in jobs, and trying to recreate the same magic, A Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2 seems quite improbable. The movie seems better as it is, that is a classic.
