SC Strikes Down Bollywood Actress’ Petition

Jacqueline Fernandez Supreme Court case

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez faced a setback after the Supreme Court dismissed her petition to quash the Rs 215 crore money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. The decision marks another serious legal blow for the Bollywood actress.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had also refused to quash the case. Jacqueline’s lawyers argued that she received expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrasekhar, claiming that Chandrasekhar was infatuated with her and sent them without her knowledge of the source.

The legal team said Jacqueline was unaware that the money behind those gifts came from crime proceeds. They insisted she had no idea that Chandrasekhar was extorting people and diverting parts of the illicit funds to her.

Jacqueline Fernandez was often seen in public with Sukesh Chandrasekhar, and their photos created a stir in Bollywood circles. The association attracted significant attention, and Jacqueline eventually came under the radar of the Enforcement Directorate.

Since then, Jacqueline has maintained that she is innocent. She has repeatedly said she had no knowledge about the origin of the gifts and that she should not be held responsible for Chandrasekhar’s actions.
