KJo Shames Fake Gossip, Calls It Disgusting!

Karan Johar slams clickbait podcasts

Karan Johar has spoken out strongly against the rising trend of fake, clickbait podcasts in Bollywood. With the internet flooded with endless content, creators often package their material with gossip-driven titles, attracting viewers who are searching for drama and masala.

In many cases, podcasts invite self-proclaimed experts from the industry. These discussions are often filled with negativity but lack substance or truth. Much of the content turns out to be hollow, exaggerated, or completely fake.

Addressing the issue, director and producer Karan Johar took to social media to share his opinion. In a detailed note on his story, he wrote about how a new subculture of podcasters disguise themselves as chat shows. They invite guests who have little to lose, and these guests end up making harsh remarks about hardworking and respected members of the film fraternity.

Karan stressed that this trend must stop. He also pointed out the insensitivity of psychics and astrologers who make sensational predictions about celebrity deaths. He described such behaviour as both insensitive and disgusting.

The filmmaker concluded by stating that free speech is important, but using clickbait to gain followers is shameful and harmful. According to him, this practice damages not just individuals but also the credibility of the industry.

In today’s digital age, many people seek validation through likes, shares, and followers. The constant chase for fame often drives some to extreme lengths, even risking their lives for temporary attention.

As Karan highlighted, the spread of clickbait culture has blurred the lines between truth and falsehood, making it harder for audiences to separate fact from fiction.
