While the films of S.S. Rajamouli’s films hardly had any sequels over the years, except Baahubali. Now another one of his films is getting a sequel. But no need to get confused. The sequel will be to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar, which was a remake of Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna.

As per the latest report, the release date for Son of Sardaar 2 has been finalized by the producers. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also posted a picture of the clapperboard showing that the filming is in progress and that the film is arriving on July 25, 2025.

The makers have not revealed a lot of details about the storyline and there is no confirmation on whether the story would continue from the first part. However, Mrunal Thakur is playing the female lead this time and the film is being helmed by Vijay Kumar Arora.

Furthermore, the new reports have claimed that Sanjay Dutt has been chosen to play one of the important roles like he did in the first film alongside Mukul Dev and Vindu Dara Singh.

The star cast for the second film also includes Kubbra Sait, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharat Saxena, Roshni Walia, and Ashwini Kalsekar.

The first film came out around 13 years ago and it was a blockbuster despite clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan on the same day. The taste of the audience has changed now, specifically after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it remains to be seen if viewers will accept the same kind of comedy in today’s world.

People like to watch situational comedy nowadays and forced humor is not liked by anyone now. The biggest question for now is whether the writer and director have prepared everything based on what the audience wants to watch.
