Bollywood’s Intimates Scene & Onion-Garlic Scandal

Gupt Movie

Bollywood has plenty of bizarre on-set stories, but only a few are oddly as memorable as the infamous “onion and garlic” incident that once halted the shooting of an intimate scene.

According to industry insiders, the crew of a major film found themselves in an awkward situation while filming in a remotely hilly location, 40 kilometers from their hotel base.

The insider revealed that the day’s schedule included a close-up, romantic scene between the lead pair; however, the actress, unaware of the plans, indulged a bit too much in the onion- and garlic-heavy lunch prior to the shoot.

As the cameras rolled and the actors started performing, the hero got increasingly uncomfortable and, out of politeness, didn’t voice his discomfort to either the crew or his co-star.

The production team had hoped to capture a sunset-lit romantic moment, but adding to their frustration, they missed the moment and had to pack up for the day.

That night, the hero discreetly told the director about this predicament. To his surprise, the following day, the crew took no chances. Onion and garlic were banished from the menu, and extra mint was supplied to the set.

With these precautions, the scene was finally completed after an additional day’s delay. What surprised the audience even more was the speculation linking the incident to the 1997 film Gupt, suggesting that the incident involved Manisha Koirala and Bobby Deol.

While neither actor had confirmed the rumor, its growing popularity sheds light on the fact that even the smallest details can hinder the best-laid filmmaking plans.
