Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan advertisement controversy has taken another turn, with Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra now sharing her opinion on the issue.

The GIVA advertisement had triggered a major debate over Kriti’s outfit and the way the festival was presented. Kriti defended the campaign, saying that the essence of a festival is about emotions and traditions rather than what a woman wears. GIVA eventually pulled down the advertisement and apologised after the backlash.

Now, Madhu Chopra has offered a different perspective. She said that “my body, my choice” is valid, but added that there should also be a certain “daayra” or boundary. According to her, dignity and respecting other people’s values are important, particularly when it comes to the occasion and cultural setting.

Madhu also made it clear that she does not have an issue with modern clothing itself. She said her own children wear such outfits for work or because they like them, but believes the choice should also suit the occasion aesthetically.

Her comments come after the controversy had already seen strong reactions from Kangana Ranaut and others. With GIVA withdrawing the ad and Kriti standing by her position, Madhu’s remarks add another voice to an already heated debate over fashion, personal choice and cultural context.
