The official trailer for Salman Khan’s Sikandar was released recently, and among the action-packed, mass-entertaining moments was an unexpected rendition of Lag Ja Gale.
Many assumed that the version of Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song was sung by Rashmika Mandanna herself, but it has now been revealed that the singer is Iulia Vantur.

This isn’t the first time Iulia has sung for a Salman Khan-starrer.
Earlier, she lent her voice to two songs in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021)- Seeti Maar and Zoom Zoom. She also sang Selfish and Party Chale On in Race 3 (2018).

Iulia Vantur, a close friend of Salman Khan, has often been rumoured to be dating him.
Her rendition of Lag Ja Gale not only failed to do justice to the classic, but also felt off-paced in the trailer.

Upon learning this, fans have expressed their frustration and disappointment.
Many believe that Salman Khan has been granting favours to friends and family at the cost of the film’s quality.
They argue that while the song is crucial to the film, Salman chose to give it to his friend- who, in their opinion, did not do a good job.
Rashmika already seemed out of place in the sequence, and the poorly sung number only made it worse.
Many fans believe Shreya Ghoshal should have been the one to sing it.
They insist that Salman Khan needs to stop prioritizing personal connections over the film’s quality, as it ultimately affects the audience, who pay from their pockets to watch his movies.
His goodwill gestures may be commendable, but they shouldn’t come at the cost of his films and his fans’ expectations.
