Teaser Talk: Colorful & Over the Top; BO Doubtful?

Son of Sardaar 2 Teaser Review

Son of Sardar 2 is finally here after 13 long years but its teaser has left audiences a little unsure. A sequel to the hit 2012 film Son of Sardar, this time the film is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Maryada Ramanna.

The first part had struck the perfect balance family-friendly comedy, catchy songs, and Ajay Devgn’s signature charm. But the teaser for part two seems to be relying more on visual flair than substance.

Visually, the teaser is colourful and glossy. Every frame is packed with energy, fast cuts, and action. But beneath the grand visuals, many viewers feel the performances are way too loud. It almost feels like everyone is trying too hard to impress and that overacting is becoming a major turnoff.

Adding to the curiosity is the casting of Mrunal Thakur opposite Ajay Devgn. Mrunal is a well-known name in the South film industry, but in Bollywood, this is her first big-banner commercial film. Whether this role can establish her as a strong presence in the Hindi film world remains to be seen.

With audiences still recovering from recent flops like Housefull 5, which was bashed for its crass comedy and lack of emotional depth, Son of Sardar 2 will need more than just style to win hearts.

The teaser has certainly grabbed attention but for the right reasons or the wrong ones, that’s still up in the air.
