Despite a massive budget of ₹300-400 crore, Yash Raj Films’ War 2 teaser has got slammed for its subpar VFX and lacklustre storytelling. This isn’t the first time YRF has faced the heat; Pathaan did too and they seem to have learnt nothing.
With a legacy of blockbusters and a star-studded cast including Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, the expectations were sky high. But instead of delivering a visual spectacle with depth, the teaser relies too much on celebrity appeal and gloss, lacks originality and emotional connect.

The contrast is even starker when you compare it with smaller films like Mirai made on a budget of ₹40-50 crore. Despite limited resources, Mirai impresses with crisp VFX, imaginative graphics and a clear creative vision.
Every frame feels purposeful – proof that thoughtful storytelling and smart resource allocation matters more than just the money. YRF, once known for blending style with substance, seems to have shifted focus – prioritising star power over storytelling.

In today’s world, audiences are more discerning and expect more than just familiar faces and flashy visuals. They want quality, innovation and authenticity. This growing gap between budget and output is a clear message – it’s not how much money you spend but how wisely you use it.
Big studios like YRF need to acknowledge these shortcomings, invest in genuine creativity and listen to audience feedback. If they don’t evolve, it will cost more than just ticket sales – it will erode brand trust and relevance in an increasingly competitive landscape.
