After Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the MCU is bringing Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026. The movie is expected to create records at the box office worldwide, considering that the original Avengers are also returning to face Doctor Doom.
The makers recently released another trailer, providing a glimpse of the world created this time. Although it has generated some buzz, the trailer has also become a subject of criticism due to the VFX, which has been trolled for being a little weak compared to Nitesh Tiwari’s film, Ramayana.
People addressed the fact that while Doomsday’s budget is almost similar to Ramayana, the VFX is now looking worse than Adipurush, which was a subject of criticism when the first teaser came out in 2023. A few expressed disappointment, saying that Hollywood should have been far ahead in terms of visual effects, specifically for a film from the MCU.
A viral social media report has claimed that Ramayana has almost 9,500 VFX shots, which is more than Adipurush, which had 8,000. Netizens pointed out that the hard work for those multiple shots in Ramayana can be spotted in the trailer. However, they shared that the same thing is not visible in the trailer of Doomsday.
Some fans of the MCU also criticized the trailer and questioned the producers on social media. They alleged that the makers were probably depending on the hype generated by the film’s announcement and a confidence that audiences would watch it because the title says Avengers.
MCU fans are now requesting the makers to either shift the release date or rework the VFX since a few more months are left. They even addressed the comparisons with Ramayana, saying that the producers should take this feedback seriously since Avengers is a franchise that started a long time ago and should prefer to maintain the standard that there has been since the beginning.
On the other hand, MCU fans are still confident that the movie will take a big opening. But only time will tell if the bad VFX will be improved and, if not, whether it will impact the box office numbers in any manner.
