SS Rajamouli is the most celebrated and biggest commercial filmmaker in Indian cinema. He has taken Telugu cinema, and relatively Indian cinema to places they have never been before. Naatu Naatu winning the Oscar was the icing on the cake.
Now, there is some clueless and ill-directed hate on Rajamouli from a section of bewildered Tamil cinema followers.
With Rajamouli scaling new heights with each film, a section of Tamil folk on social media is unable to bear this. The fact that no Tamil filmmaker is even remotely close to touching Rajamouli’s legacy is fueling their fire further.
After watching Indian 2, a few opine that Shankar lost sheen after his trusted writer Sujatha moved away from him.
Using this narrative, Tamils are saying that even Rajamouli might loose all his momentum and sheen if his father, Vijayendra Prasad stops providing him with stories. The intention is to bring down Rajamouli’s image by questioning his capabilities without Vijayendra Prasad’s writing.
While this topic might be up for debate, Rajamouli as a storyteller is beyond all else in Indian cinema.
For instance, you can give a Baahubali or RRR script to some other famous filmmaker and we can almost 100% guarantee that they wouldn’t be able to deliver a product even close to what Jakkanna did.
The way Rajamouli moulds his stories and brings them to life on screen is a craft unlike any other Indian filmmaker has and this is what sets him apart.
So the clueless narrative from a section of Tamil fans is sloppy and illogical to say the least.
