Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sensation nationwide, but the film’s box office performance in the Telugu states is not up to the mark just like the first part.
After a strong opening in its first week, it is not living up to the expectations of the buyers in Telugu states. The Telugu version is underperforming compared to the Hindi version, with collections not meeting anticipated levels in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In the first week, the Telugu version grossed 150 crores, but by the beginning of the second week, the movie couldn’t sustain its momentum.
The not-so-great content, lack of holidays and criticisms regarding ticket pricing in some areas are believed to be the primary reasons for this dip in earnings.

With distributors having made substantial investments, there are now concerns about potential losses if the film doesn’t pick up pace soon. While the film maintained stable collections in the Nizam region, it appears to have lagged behind in Andhra Pradesh.
This situation is quite similar to what happened with Pushpa: The Rise. If the film doesn’t see a significant rise in earnings by Sunday, it will be difficult for distributors to recover their investments.

Trade pundits are hopeful that if the film maintains steady collections in its third week, the situation might improve. On the eighth day, the Telugu version only earned ₹9.4 crores, and analysts believe the collections need to shoot up in a big way for the film to be considered a success in the Telugu market.
The Hindi version is a bumper blockbuster with never-before-seen collections, but the Telugu audience seems to have backstabbed Pushpa 2.
The huge contrast between the Hindi and Telugu box office performances of Pushpa 2 has become a major topic of discussion in the industry. The Telugu distributors are awaiting a spike in footfalls in the coming days.
Earning profits might be difficult from here but it remains to be seen whether the film will at least achieve breakeven from here on.
