Beyond Telugu cinema, he portrayed villains in big superstar films like Bairavaa and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Jagapathi Babu played Central Minister Kogatam Veera Pratap Reddy in Pushpa 2, but the character left little to no impact.
Throughout the film, his role feels underwhelming, as though it could have been performed by any small-time actor. It failed to utilize the presence and talent of a powerful performer like Jagapathi Babu.

In the end, there is a twist that supposedly becomes the reason for Pushpa clashing with Veera Pratap Reddy. However, the twist feels convoluted and abrupt, reminiscent of the climax twist in Family Star.
While the film sets up Jagapathi Babu’s character as central to Pushpa 3, where he will reportedly lead the gang of villains alongside Jaali Reddy (played by Daali Dhananjay), the terrible execution of his role in Pushpa 2 leaves much to be desired.
With no official announcement or timeline for Pushpa 3, Jagapathi Babu’s role remains underwritten and underdeveloped, leaving little impact in the grand narrative of such a successful franchise.
