As the festive Christmas season approaches, anticipation is high for the clash between two much-anticipated films, Dunki and Salaar. However, what was expected to be a thrilling competition has turned into a fierce drama over screens and show timings.
Dunki, featuring Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, currently commands the North, while Salaar enjoys a significant advantage in the South. The battle for screen allocation has stirred discontent among both film crews, and the competition remains unresolved.
Recent reports indicate that Salaar’s release in South Indian Multiplexes is facing a delay due to issues arising from the Dunki team’s dealings with plex owners. Some are urging fans of all stars to unite in support of Salaar, but the question arises – does Team Salaar deserve this sympathy?
Salaar’s inconsistent planning, with a sudden shift from September 28 to December 22, created repercussions for other films. The decision to clash with a Shah Rukh Khan film, which had reserved its Christmas date well in advance, was a wrong step from Salaar makers. Salaar postponement caused trouble to so many films including Skanda, Hi Nanna, and others.
Now, with SRK flexing his muscle, concerns loom over potential clashes during the releases of Devara, Game Changer, and Pushpa 2. However, current indications suggest this might not occur unless Tollywood filmmakers intentionally decide to clash with already announced Bollywood blockbusters. Especially Pushpa 2 would not face any such difficulty because it has tremendous hype and Singham 3 in all probability would get postponed.
Let’s not bring up the North-South stuff in this talk. Movies are just movies, whether they’re from Bollywood or the South. People in charge have sorted out clashes before, and we don’t need to make it about regions. It’s better to focus on finding solutions that work for everyone. That way, the film world stays friendly and healthy for everyone to enjoy.
As the battle for screens rages on, fans and industry experts ponder the fairness of the current allocation and whether perceived injustice befalls one of the films. The drama surrounding Dunki and Salaar’s clash injects suspense into the festive season, keeping everyone on edge until the culmination on December 21st.
