Sree Vishnu Under Fire: “Boycott All His Films”

Actor Sree Vishnu has found himself at the center of controversy. According to some reports, a Christian community group, Kraistava Sangam, has called for a boycott of his upcoming films.

The group claims that his recent movies Swag (2024) and Single (2025) mock Christianity and Jesus. They have accused the films of spreading “continuous targeted hatred.”

“We are deeply hurt by his continuous mockery and targeted hatred aimed at Christianity and Jesus through his recent films,” the group said.

They further questioned the intent behind the content. “Doesn’t his own religion have flaws? Why doesn’t he make movies about them instead?” they added.

Swag is a historical comedy where Sree Vishnu plays multiple roles. It deals with societal changes and cultural shifts. Single is a romantic comedy that leans on lighthearted humor and satire.

While there may be some satirical references, it appears that Sree Vishnu did not deliberately target any religion or community. The intent seems comedic rather than malicious.

Single opened to a decent response at the box office during its first weekend. The comedy worked to some extent, but collections have dropped on weekdays.

It remains to be seen if the controversy will actually boost the film’s performance.

Some viewers on social media, especially those identifying as Hindu, have expressed interest in watching the film after the backlash from the Christian group.
