Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is missing in the MLC candidates list. This has come as a surprise because Yanamala has been an integral part of the Telugu Desam Party for several decades.
He was the Speaker when NT Ramarao took the Floor Test during that crisis and is believed to have supported Chandrababu Naidu.

Yanamala did not allow NTR to speak before the Floor Test. Many believed that it was a turning point because if NTR delivered an emotional speech half of the MLAs and the people would have turned in his favor.
Chandrababu always gave utmost importance to Yanamala’s family.

When Yanamala lost from TDP Bastion, Tuni in 2009. He was sent to the Council and he got a renewal every single time.
He was also a common name in Chandrababu’s cabinet whenever TDP came to Power.

Even then, his brother, Krishnudu was given a Tuni ticket and even then the seat remained complicated due to the issues in the Yanamala family.
Nara Lokesh wanted to deny a ticket for the family in the recent elections but Yanamala prevailed on Chandrababu and got a ticket for his daughter at the last minute.
When Yanamala got a hint that his MLC would not be renewed, Yanamala wrote an open letter on the Kakinada Port and SEZ issue taking a stand that was completely opposite to the party. That was seen as an attempt to blackmail the Party’s Leadership.
Now that it is confirmed Yanamala is not getting a renewal, Blue Media is writing stories about how Lokesh prevailed over Chandrababu Naidu and stopped it.
But then, the Blue Media is doing a favor for Lokesh with these stories.
TDP cadre sees Yanamala as a liability. They believed he complicated a strong seat like Tuni and even then, was getting rewarded.
For a long time, the cadre has been demanding that Yanamala be retired.
If Blue Media says it happened because of Lokesh, it is only improving his image.
Interestingly, four members of the Yanamala family are currently holding power positions, including him (Politburo Member). His daughter Divya is the Tuni MLA, his son-in-law Putta Mahesh Yadav is the Eluru Lok Sabha member and his brother-in-law Putta Sudhakar Yadav is Mydukuru MLA.
It is better if he gracefully retires instead of trying something that could impact his daughter’s political career as well.
