Leaders often talk of environment, of renewable energy, of zero carbon footprint. But on ground, many fail to strike a balance between eco-friendly moves and development.
But the story is not so in Andhra Pradesh. The state has a CM who is attached to his growth goals. He is for development, but he is also concerned about the environmental costs that it can bring.
Chandrababu is known to be a taskmaster. During his earlier days, Hyderabad’s development meant chopping off decades-old trees. At that time, development came at a cost.
But years later, the CM of Andhra Pradesh is a wiser man and a quick learner. He is decided he won’t repeat the same mistake in Amaravati. The huge, years old trees have been cut down to make way for projects.
This time the trees that are part of our social heritage are being preserved to be replanted in Amaravati. Already, some rich families follow this and get huge trees relocated and replanted in their homes.
As for the government taking such steps, all credit goes to Chandrababu for planning a greener future for next generations.
