The MLC Elections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana threw contrasting results for the Ruling Parties.
In Andhra Pradesh, TDP Candidates won the two Graduates MLC elections with thumping majorities but then, in Telangana, Congress registered dismal results.
In the two Teachers MLC seats (Karimnagar-Medak-Adilabad-Nizamabad and Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam), Congress supported candidates lost.
BJP supported candidate Malka Komaraiah won Karimnagar-Medak-Adilabad-Nizamabad Teachers MLC Seat.
PRTU TS Candidate Pingali Sripal Reddy won from Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam seat. The Congress-backed candidate and Revanth’s close aide Gali Harshavardhan Reddy was narrowly narrowed down to the third position here.
In Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Graduate Election, the BJP candidate is slightly ahead after the Second Round. Congress Candidate Alphores Narendra Reddy is in the second position while the BSP Candidate is also closer in votes in the third position.
The Final Result will take more time but if it is negative, it will be a big blow to CM Revanth Reddy.
BRS did not contest in these elections.
Revanth Reddy is just a little over one year in Power and there are clear signs of anti-incumbency.
Revanth Reddy is struggling to make his own mark in the administration and is depending only on counter-attacking KCR and his family.
But these results are an indication that people are not buying it and are already looking for a change.
There is distress among many sections including the farmers, unemployed, and welfare scheme beneficiaries.
BRS is hitting the ground more often and is trying to be in middle of the people. Luckily for Revanth Reddy, KCR is still inactive.
KTR was able to scare the defected MLAs in the name of disqualification and byelections. The already defected MLAs are wondering if they should go back to the BRS and the remaining MLAs dropped the idea of shifting.
On the other side, despite poor activity on the ground, there seems to be still some mojo in the BJP in some sections of the people which is evident from the results.
Its high time Revanth Reddy rolls up his sleeves or very soon, he will face pressure from the party’s high command too. We will see the demands to change him as well.
