Fake Hyderabad Call Centre Dupes US Citizens

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) busted a Hyderabad-based call center for defrauding US citizens following a raid in a building in Madhapur.

TGCSB director Shikha Goel said the entire operation was being carried out by Kaivan Patel and Rupesh Kumar alias Jaddhu from Gujarat.

They were assisted by Rupesh’s brother Vicky based in Dubai and another member Azad.

The main suspect Chanda Manasvini (36), started a company Exito Solutions and started a call center on one floor in the building. The company had 63 employees, out of which 40 were from north-east.

The employees were being paid Rs 30,000 apart from accommodation and travel.

The scam involved employees posing as tele-callers who would call up US citizens and falsely inform them of unauthorized transactions in their account.

Victims were made to give out vital information that was used to take away money and send it to designated bank accounts. Each caller had to dupe at least 10 people daily and 600 people were duped on a daily basis. This way, Exito made thousands of dollars which were converted into crypto currency and diverted to other digital wallets.

Tha authorities also found that some people provided PayPal customer data to Chanda Manasvini. All employees were fluent in English and were trained to manipulate people. They were aware that their work was illegal, the police shared.




The police seized 53 laptops, 63 mobiles and 27 employee ID cards. The police are on a hunt for Rupesh Kumar to get more details of the fraud.
