Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in Mangalagiri today. It is the first government-led incubator designed to turn ideas into enterprises, empower youth to become job creators, and promote innovation across villages.
Amaravati will act as the main centre, with five supporting hubs launched in Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Anantapur. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekharan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh were present at the inauguration. Former MP and Amara Raja Chairman Galla Jayadev also attended the event.
Amara Raja is one of the Knowledge Partners of the Hub, which may explain Jayadev’s presence. However, his appearance has triggered speculation in political circles. The event took place in Amaravati, which was once Jayadev’s Guntur parliamentary constituency.
Jayadev had announced his retirement from politics before the 2024 elections, alleging harassment by the previous government and central agencies despite paying massive state and central taxes. Later reports suggested that he regretted the decision and was considering a return.
However, the Guntur constituency is now held by Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, who secured a cabinet berth in his first term and has quickly grown into a strong leader. Many believe Galla would have been a Union Minister in the Modi government if he had stayed in politics.
There have been rumours that Jayadev may seek a Rajya Sabha nomination. His speech at the event, which he ended with “Jai Amaravati,” has only fuelled speculation about his comeback. Interestingly, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar was absent from the event due to prior commitments, further adding to the buzz.
