KIA Then, TCS Now: YSRCP No Matter, Wants Credit

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress did nothing on the investment front in the last five years. We have seen Jagan only showcase Volunteer and Secretariat Jobs as the jobs created during his tenure.

Andhra Pradesh has completely disappeared from the investment map and we have even seen some of the companies like Adani Data Center, Franklin Templeton, Lulu, and others fleeing AP thanks to Jagan’s mindless policies.

During 2014-19, Chandrababu Naidu brought Kia Motors to Anantapur. It is the single largest FDI in the country back then.

In the initial days of Jagan’s Government, there was news in Reuters that South Korean automobile major, Kia Motors is contemplating moving out of Andhra Pradesh due to the bad policies of the Jagan Government.

We have seen a YCP MP openly threatening a Kia Motors Executive at an event. Later the Government backtracked after severe Public criticism.

And then, we saw Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy releasing a letter saying that Kia Motors came to Andhra Pradesh due to a letter written by the late YSR several years ago.

And now, YSR Congress is trying to do the same for TCS.

The other day, Minister Lokesh announced TCS is setting up a facility in Vishakhapatnam creating 10,000 jobs. This is the first major investment to Andhra Pradesh in the new government and will also give a push to the IT environment in the Port City.

Immediately after the announcement, YSR Congress jumped into the fray to rob the credit.

They are circulating random Newspaper clips, and website links saying that the Jagan Government in 2020 brought TCS to Vishakapatnam and the credit belongs to the then IT Minister (Late) Mekapati Gautam Reddy.

An IT company that plans to come to a new location, can easily start operations in 2-3 years unlike manufacturing industries because all it needs a building.

There are buildings that can accommodate TCS in Vishakhapatnam or they can even build a new one in 2-3 years.

However, TCS did not make any announcement of the facility nor start the construction.

The then government did not make any announcement about the incentives, land, or anything pertaining to TCS indicating that nothing happened.

Immediately after coming to power, Lokesh and his team pursued the investment with the Chairman of the Board of Tata Sons, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, and finally convinced him to set up the facility in Vishakhapatnam.

Just like how it tried to rob the credit of Kia Motors, YSR Congress is after the credit for TCS.
