The YSRCP has released four lists, confirming 58 Assembly candidates and 10 Parliament candidates for the upcoming elections. The anticipation is now shifting towards the opposition TDP’s list of candidates. Initially, TDP had planned to reveal its first list with 25 names after Pongal, but the party has now changed its strategy.
Both aspirants in TDP and Jana Sena, as well as within the YSRCP, are eagerly waiting for the TDP’s first list. Reportedly, the party will disclose the first list with 50 to 60 names after the official announcement of the election schedule.
The Election Commission is expected to publish the final voter list on January 22nd, and the election schedule is likely to be announced between February 9 and 15. The elections in Andhra Pradesh are expected to be held in the first week of April. TDP President Chandrababu Naidu has been revealing candidates during his public meetings in the state.
According to sources, he has already finalized candidates in 75 Assembly segments, with decisions pending for one of two aspirants in 60 segments.There are reports indicating that seat-sharing arrangements between TDP and Jana Sena have been completed.
Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement of the TDP candidate for Mandapet, along with other indications, suggests that seat sharing between the two parties has been finalized. TDP aims to field experienced candidates for Parliament.
Former Penugonda TDP MLA BK Pardha Saradhi is expected to be the candidate for the Hindupur Parliament seat, and former Minister Kalva Srinivasulu is likely to contest for the Anantapur Parliament seat. In Kurnool Lok Sabha, TDP intends to field a candidate from the BC community, while Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy is expected to be the TDP candidate from the Dhone Assembly segment.
