HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has taken a key decision about Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena Schemes. The Government will be replacing them with the old Fees Reimbursement scheme.
Vidya Deevena and Vasthi Deevena are nothing but School/college fees and Hostel Fee Schemes.

Earlier these schemes would be in the purview of the schools/colleges and Government.
If the money is delayed, it is between the Government and the institutions with no impact on the students.

After Jagan came to power, he gave new names to these schemes and started depositing the money in the accounts of the mothers of the students.
If the mothers have money in their accounts, it is helpful for the YSR Congress politically.

But then, there is a problem here. The mothers have to pay the fees to the schools/Colleges.
If the money is delayed, the schools and colleges would ask the Parents, not the Government. So, naturally, students will be impacted, unlike the Fee reimbursement scheme where the transactions are between the Government and the institutions.
In some cases, even if the government pays, parents divert the money to their other needs and delay the payments. Again, the students are impacted.
So, Nara Lokesh decided to replace the schemes with the old Fees Reimbursement schemes.
Lokesh can continue depositing money in mothers’ accounts and gain political capital but he prioritized the future of students over political gains.
