In January 2023, TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh started the Yuva Galam Padayatra in Andhra Pradesh and toured across the state until December 2023.
During this walkathon, Lokesh made promises at every milestone. The first promise was made when he completed walking 100 km, a landmark reached at Bangarupalyam in the Puthalapattu constituency.

He promised to set up a dialysis centre at the Bangarupalyam government hospital. Lokesh stated that he would cover the entire expenses of the centre to ensure easy access to treatment for kidney patients, who often travel long distances for dialysis.
Cut to 2024, the Telugu Desam Party came to power in Andhra Pradesh, forming a coalition government with Janasena and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Now, Lokesh has fulfilled the promise he made at Bangarupalyam. True to his word, he established a dialysis centre at the Bangarupalyam government hospital.
The centre will now cater to the medical needs of kidney patients in the surrounding areas.
