Osmania General Hospital is getting a complete makeover. Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has started building new facilities at Goshamahal Police Stadium. The project aims to transform the hospital into a modern healthcare hub with advanced infrastructure.
The works began on Dassera with a puja. Earlier, on January 31, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the project. The government has set a target of completing the entire construction in 30 months.
The hospital will come up on 26 acres with a built-up area of 32 lakh square feet. It will house 2,000 beds and include a hospital block, academic block, separate hostels for men and women, a dharmshala, mortuary, utility block, and security building.
Parking will not be an issue. The two-level basement can accommodate up to 1,500 cars. The complex will also feature 29 major and 12 minor operation theatres, a helipad, robotic surgery facilities, transplant units, sewage treatment, and biomedical waste plants.
The plan includes colleges for nursing, dental, and physiotherapy. Designers are focusing on natural airflow and patient comfort, with rooftop terrace gardens and cross ventilation systems. This ensures the hospital combines technology with sustainable features.
Once complete, Osmania General Hospital will match top private hospitals in the country. It will offer advanced medical care supported by modern facilities, cutting-edge technology, and large-scale infrastructure designed to serve thousands of patients.
